The Brief

As experts in their field, Beauty Barn combine innovative skin treatments with traditional hair and beauty services. They wanted to improve their visibility for laser hair removal, Endermologie, and other non-surgical treatment terms.

Our health and cosmetics client were keen on growing their local visibility and generating leads from transactional and commercial queries. But we also had a secondary objective to increase brand awareness nationally.

This brief included no budget for off-page, and so we had to devise a plan for improving SEO without acquiring any external links.

The Process

This is how we followed through on our brief using on-page SEO.
We first divided the different verticals of the business into four silos. Each silo then had a hyper-focussed content plan.

Using our content plan, we could plan our anchor text in advance and make sure that each piece of content was crawlable, discoverable, and contained links to the relevant parent page. Each page also contained at least two internal links, which is a good way to encourage Google to crawl each page more frequently.

Finally, we made sure that our briefs were data-led, and therefore more extensive and detailed than our competitors. This was crucial if we were to get ahead for competitive search queries.

The Results

This process created a feedback loop of topical authority throughout each silo and ultimately lead to an explosion of traffic and leads for our client from both local and national keywords.

In terms of numbers, our client saw a 2187% increase in organic traffic in 12 months – all without building a single link.
