How we optimised the City Fencing website to improve the ecommerce user journey

The Brief

City Fencing is a family-run business with three generations of experience located in the heart of Liverpool. They contacted Blaze for marketing advice. After reviewing their current website, we determined that it would be beneficial to conduct a website refresh. This involved improving their current site to enhance conversions.

The overall goal was to give the website a more professional look that would hopefully attract more customers.

The Process

The development team sprung into action, first assessing their current website. Upon first inspection, a problem with the initial homepage was identified. The homepage was not eye-catching, so the primary objective was to improve this in the redesign.

We implemented a vibrant orange in our redesign, which helped to bring attention to the website’s client-targeted features, such as the customer reviews and contact page.

We tidied up the website, displaying only the most important information and collapsing anything that took up too much space. This made the site much more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

Pushing upselling was key to gaining more sales for the business, so we introduced a ‘You May Also Like’ column, which helped direct customers to other products, further increasing the chance of sales.

The Result

City Fencing was incredibly happy with the results. Their website was more vibrant and rejuvenated, contrasting its previously dull state.

Thanks to our development team’s redesign, the website became more user-friendly, with concise information guiding customers to their needs.

Because of the redesign, we were able to include far more customer results and showcase City Fencing’s work. This gave people visiting the website an idea of what to expect.
