The Brief

Suttons International came to us as a leading bulk liquid logistics operator with a strong industry reputation but limited organic search presence. Core commercial keywords across the chemical transport and tank container logistics space were either unranked or buried deep in the results. Their Tank Container Logistics section, their primary revenue driver, was generating minimal search-driven visits, and they knew that something had to change to connect them with new potential customers.

They had a meeting with our SEO team, and we helped them get a better understanding of their goals and the strategy needed to obtain them. 

Their main goal was to build a sustainable SEO foundation that would generate qualified organic traffic globally across the UK, USA, Singapore, Netherlands, Belgium and Brazil, and establish Suttons as the authoritative voice for chemical and bulk liquid logistics in search.

We knew we could not only achieve this, but also use quality content and website optimisation to help them finally rank in core commercial keywords that they hadn’t been taking advantage of.

The Process

We began with a full keyword gap analysis across Suttons’ core sectors, mapping where the site was absent entirely and building a prioritised roadmap of high-opportunity terms with clear page targets.

From there, we developed and refined sector-specific content across the Tank Container Logistics section, built out Sutton’s blog resources with targeted editorial pieces across their key industries, and optimised existing pages for commercial intent.

We extended this work internationally, targeting search behaviour across five markets to match Suttons’ global operational footprint. As Google’s AI Overviews became a central SERP feature, we positioned Suttons’ content to capture these placements, a strategic focus that paid off significantly across their most commercially important terms.

Having worked with them for a number of years now, we have continued to refine our strategy with every new update in the world of SEO, now putting further emphasis on how Suttons rank.

The Results

Since working with us, Suttons has gone from a site with limited non-branded search presence to holding top-10 positions across 26 keyword clusters in five countries, including multiple position 1 AI Overview placements.

Keywords in the top 10 grew. Keywords in the top 3 trebled. The Tank Container Logistics section, built from near-zero organic presence, now generates over 3,500 sessions in a 12-month period, with a site-wide engagement rate of 64.6% across the same window, rising to 66.85% in recent months. That engagement rate matters: the visitors arriving through organic search are not browsing and leaving, they are reading, exploring and engaging with the content.
